PAC-MAN Kart Rally by Namco arrives on the Amazon Fire TV

The popular game PAC-MAN Kart Rally by Namco has just arrived on the Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition television. This Mario Kart style racing game includes multiple characters from various video game franchises. It has pulled in over 5 million downloads on smart phones and tablets and I believe its arrival on the Fire TV line is the first time it’s being made on a TV platform. It currently costs $4.99, but I’d suggest holding off until September if you’re thinking of buying it because there’s a chance it will be Amazon Fire TV game of the month. If it does earn that accolade, it will be free next month. The game works with either a remote control or game controller.

Is “Amazon Fire TV Game of the Month” a new official promotion? Are they always free? I have not heard of it before, but it reminds me of “Free App of the Day”. I do miss those days, it was a little surprise to look forward to every morning!

It’s weird. The game of the month is like an “unofficial official” thing. There’s no reference to it anywhere on Amazon’s site, but Amazon will occasionally call a game their “Game of the Month” in various Fire TV related newsletters/emails. The games are usually a paid game that is offered for free for most of the month, but not always.

I say that PAC-MAN Kart Rally has a good chance of being next months game of the month because lately, the games chosen come out a few days before the new month. Almost as if they are commissioned by Amazon.
