Logitech Keyboards on sale — $17.99 for K400 and $39.99 for K830

The Logitech K400 Plus Keyboard is on sale for $17.99, which matches the lowest price this keyboard has ever been. If you sideload apps on your Fire TV that are not optimized for use with a remote control, this is a great keyboard to use because it combines a touchpad into a compact form factor that is still big enough to touch type. It connects through a wireless USB adapter, so it’s ready to use for Fire TV 1 and 2 owners, but Fire TV 3 and Fire TV Stick 2 owners will need to use an OTG cable. Also on sale is the higher end K830 Keyboard for $39.99. That also matches the lowest price it has ever been. The K830 offers some premium features over the K400, like illuminated backlit keys. The K830 works through the included USB dongle or through Bluetooth, however, I’m told that the Bluetooth connection is not compatible with the Fire TV Stick and requires repeated reconnecting with the Fire TV box.

I bought 2 k400r’s a year or so back when Sam’s Club closed them out at around $12.99. They work great with the FireTV 2. I guess this is the newer version. Wish they hadn’t discontinued that FireTV 2.

Very nice size and key layout and the bluetooth pairing for multiple devices is easy, fast, and awesome.
It is heavier than I expected, but understandable given it is a base to hold devices.
I also wish it had a cover to protect the keys when inside a backpack, especially since the keys stick out so far.

The major downside for me is the keyclick is incredibly loud (much too loud to use in a classroom setting).
The other problem I have is that the holding slot for devices only seems to work if you use a device without a protective case.
Tested it with iPhones, Windows tablet, and iPads and no one I know has a device (with a case) that fits it, even the slimmest of back-only protective cases had to be wedged in and really doesn’t fit.

Great potential and I really want to use it, but with the loud keyclick and it not being able to hold devices with protective cases, it is simply not usable for me.
