FOX Business Network app comes to the Amazon Fire TV

FOX has released their FOX Business app for all Amazon Fire TVs, Fire TV Sticks, and Fire TV Edition televisions. The app has a live 24/7 stream of the FOX Business network as well as on-demand episodes of the stations various shows. You will need to activate the app with a television subscription provider in order to unlock all the content, however, there is some free content that does not require activation. The app description also says that it will provide “free live streaming coverage of major news events,” so this might be a good resource for live news even if you don’t have a subscription with a TV provider.

An interesting observation to all of these free “cable network” streaming apps that are coming out:
I have Verizon as my cable provider, I’ve noticed recently that any cable channel that also offers a completely free streaming app is being dropped by Verizon, the legal jargon that pops up when you tune to an affected channel is “Verizon is being asked to pay for a channel that this content provider is offering for free through the internet and we will not pass this expense onto our customers”.
So far just a few channels, the latest victim is Bloomberg TV but I wonder if Fox Business will be next???
