FLIRC on sale for $14.95 — Adds IR Remote Functionality to Fire TV

FLIRC, a USB dongle that adds IR remote support and functionality to the Fire TV, has just gone on sale for $14.95. That’s just $1 more than the lowest price it has ever been. FLIRC is quite elegant in its simplicity. It allows you to use any IR remote control you own to control your Fire TV. You plug it into a PC or Mac and select Fire TV on its simple configuration interface. Then, using any remote you have, you assign a button on your remote to perform each Fire TV remote action. Then just plug FLIRC into the Fire TV’s USB port, and your IR remote will be able to control your Fire TV.

Meanwhile in Canada it is 50 dollars
eBay goes up to even 80

I don’t suppose it can work with the fire stick?

Great solution if you like pointing your remote in obscure directions or like ugly excess cords & dongles laying around. Great way to add some ugly to a visually discrete device. Think I will just stick with CEC/Droidmote/k400/etc.

However this would be slightly cheaper than ordering a remote for those who scooped the box only deal from ebay that you posted a while back. :-)
