Amazon’s regular Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, and Kindle Voyage are on sale

In addition to putting most of their Alexa devices on sale for Father’s Day, Amazon has also put most of their Kindle models on sale. The regular Kindle is down from $79.99 to $59.99, which is a “Good” price on my Amazon Device Buyer’s Guide scale of “Okay/Good/Great” because you can probably expect it to be $10 less during big sales like Prime Day and Black Friday. The Kids Edition version of the regular Kindle has also dropped by $20 to $79.99. The kids versions comes without sponsored ads and includes a free cover plus a 2-year worry-free guarantee. The Kindle Paperwhite is down from $119.99 to $99.99, which I also consider a “Good” price, based on past sales. Lastly, the Kindle Voyage is on sale for $179.99, which is just an “Okay” price in my book, since this is the oldest Kindle model Amazon sells and it has been available for much less in the past.

Why doesn’t the Oasis ever go on sale? I’d gladly hand them more than the price of a Voyage but I need a little incentive.

I’ve been told that they sell very well. Almost as fast as Amazon can make them. This was a few months ago, so I don’t know if it’s still the case, but that would explain why they’ve literally never been on sale over a year since release. They’re the type of gadget people want but tend not to buy for themselves, so they’re commonly bought as gifts.

I’ve heard this as well. It’s a really nice device. I love my Voyage but I’d upgrade if I could justify it.

Here’s the thing; if you have a Voyage at regular price & you bought a cover for it you’re very close to the cost of an Oasis. That’s why it wouldn’t take much of a sale to push me over the edge & buy one. In the mean time I’ll keep using my Nook Simple Touch.

I know! But I bought my Voyage prior to the Oasis announcement and I didn’t buy a cover. I couldn’t get retail price for the Voyage at this point so its a bigger jump.
