Motorola’s next flagship phone has just been added as Amazon’s newest Prime Exclusive Phone. The all-new 4th Generation Moto X (a.k.a. Moto X4) has all power and features you’d expect from a flagship phone, but also adds something you won’t find on other phones, which is hands-free Alexa capabilities.
The Moto X4 packs in a Snapdragon 630 octa-core CPU clocked at 2.2GHz and a 650Mhz Adreno 508 GPU. It has a 1080p 5.2-inch IPS screen, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage that is expandable through a microSD slot.
On the back, it has a pair of cameras where one is a 12 MP standard shooter and the other is an 8 MP ultra-wide angle camera with a 120° field of view. On the front is a 16 MP selfie camera with its own dedicated flash.
The Moto X4 is IP68 water resistant, so it should be able to withstand splashes and quick dunks in water without being damaged. The phone runs a version of Android 7.1 that is very close to stock Android. Of course, because this is a Prime Exclusive phone, it will come pre-loaded with Amazon’s suite of apps and will have lock screen ads.
This is the first Prime Exclusive phone to come with hands-free Alexa capabilities. The phone’s 3 microphones will listen for the Alexa wake-word, even when the phone is locked, and respond with Amazon’s voice assistant, just like Amazon’s line of Echo speakers.
The regular price of the Moto X4 is $399.99, but Prime Members can save $70 and buy the phone for $329.99. It’s available in Sterling Blue or Super Black and can be pre-orered starting today. It will be released on October 26th.
