Amazon’s Alexa servers were down for a few hours yesterday

This is just a quick PSA that Amazon’s Alexa servers were down around mid-day yesterday for 2-3 hours. If you were having issues using Alexa yesterday, rest assured it was not an issue with your hardware or your setup. If you’re ever experiencing issues with Amazon devices, a good first step is to check Amazon’s Cloud Status page to determine if the issue is on Amazon’s side. The “AWS Lambda (N. Virginia)” servers handles the majority of Alexa’s requests.

Not sure if this explains why Alexa couldn’t control my Harmony remote last night or not… I’ll have to try again tonight. I know it’s not my Harmony Hubs fault as it was on/connected and my remotes worked, but Alexa said “Sorry XXX is not responding at the moment”, but all my lights still worked through Alexa, so…

Thank you for giving us the website to check. I usually know there is a problem when I try multiple skills and get the same response of not available. I thought it was a little confusing because when I asked a question outside of a skill i.e. weather or time, she was able to answer.
