Amazon to make ‘The Grand Tour’ available in 200 countries this December

Currently, Amazon Video is only available in the US, UK, Germany, Austria, and Japan. That poses a problem for Amazon’s new show The Grand Tour, which premieres tomorrow November 18th. That’s because Top Gear, the show that The Grand Tour’s hosts are coming from, was a global hit and was available in over 200 territories. If The Grand Tour was only watchable in countries where Amazon Video was available, then millions of fans would be upset. To make things right, Amazon will be making The Grand Tour available in 200 countries, starting in December.

It’s unclear if Amazon Video in its entirety will be expanding globally come December, or if it’s just this one show that will be made available. We know India will be getting a full Amazon Video library soon, so we’ll have to wait and see if the rest of the world follows in December.

Another source it will also be available on day one worldwide….through other means.

I’m surprised they didn’t hold the release date back for a true worldwide release, unless they think their server can’t handle it.

Gotta watch the show. They do some pretty cool things and it is pretty entertaining.

I agree with you. Sometimes I’d used to watch Top Gear if nothing else was on and yeah it was ok. But Amazon appears to have put everything into this.

I guess it makes sense considering it was the BBC’s biggest export and one of the most watched tv shows in the world.

The show has just gone live and it’s amazing! As a Prius driver it was fun see the hybrid hypercars. I hope that because Jeremy specifically mentioned Canada and Ireland that it means that Amazon Prime is finally coming to Ireland and I won’t have to use a VPN to make use of Prime Video anymore.
