I’ve been a Prime member for years, so I figured I’d get this and save a few bucks on next year’s membership, but it wouldn’t allow me to complete the purchase. I got an error message that said I was already a Prime Member so the purchase could not be completed. Bummer.

It’s only for customers who have never had prime and it doesn’t pile onto your existing active subscription like a PlayStation Plus subscription does. You can only have one 12 month subscription active at a time, you can’t buy another for the following year until the existing one expires.

You should probably mention that it’s only for customers who have never bought Prime before as some people, like the guy in the comments, are trying to avail of this but cannot as they aren’t new to Prime.

  3. I let my Prime membership lapse. Don’t think it is as good a deal as it once was. Definitely not worth the money to me. Vudu and Crackle with ads are good enough. Shipping, local price matching, and new fine print have dramatically reduced the value of Prime as a shopping tool.
