Amazon making all of President Obama’s State of the Union speeches available on demand

Amazon has teamed up with the White House to provide on demand access to Barack Obama’s final State of the Union speech, as well as all seven previous State of the Union addresses, through their video platform. The speech will still be broadcast live through YouTube and other platforms as it has been for a while, but this is the first time it will be made available on demand in this manner. Starting Wednesday, anyone will be able to watch all speeches, including the 2016 speech from this Tuesday night, on demand through Amazon’s various apps and platforms for free. This partnership with Amazon is a part of the White House’s effort to “meet people where they are” and provide a way to watch the President’s speech “in the same way we’re used to consuming video content in 2016.”
