Ferris Wheel Building Set, Amazon Exclusive, really? DVDs on sale? Harry Potter books on sale? This is a partial list of items they are going to be selling?? It almost sounds like they are just clearing out junk and giving out some gift cards.

My expectations are very low for tomorrow :(

I really hope this is a joke, and the real deal will be 35% off all PRIME eligible items.

    • JoeB says:

You’re high on crack if you think any company would ever give 35% off everything. That’s not a sale, that’s a going out of business clearance. If they did offer an impossible sale like that, people like you would complain that it’s not 50% off.

There are 10 or so main Amazon departments. This preview of 30 or so items is clearly designed to include many different departments, which by default means the majority of the list isn’t going to appeal to most people because it’s so broad.

      • James says:

        lol, no.

I guess you missed the part about the Amazon exclusive Ferris Wheel builder set, DVDs and Harry Potter books.

Seriously, Harry Potter books? Didn’t those come out 10-15 years ago? They spent millions on TV commercials for Prime Day and this is the preview list that they release?

  2. Lumute says:

Crap! I was really hoping for the regular version or the bundle to be on sale, not the stick… :-(

    • Ryan says:

The Fire TV is a great product though. To get one for less than the cost of a Chromecast like that is impressive. Have you ever used one? All those apps, mirroring, Kodi with a dual core.

      • Lumute says:

Not really, I want it mainly for Kodi to replace a Mac Mini, I was thinking the stick may not be powerful enough to provide good performance… For that price I may just buy it anyway and give it a try…

        • fjtorres says:

KODI on the stick plays everything I’ve thrown at it ISO’s to mkvs.
Other than high bitrate VC-1 everything plays.

  3. Tom says:

What do you suppose the odds are you can use the $50 off developer code towards the discounted HD7? I still have mine unused…

  4. James F. Seif says:

They want to clear out the old Fire TV sticks because they have a new model coming out soon.

    • atoneapone says:

Its prime day, so this was bound to go on sale. But right, the new version 2 (afts) probably won’t be out until end of year in the Fall(Oct-Dec). So if you don’t want to wait & have $24 to spare, it might be worth while.

  6. Lumute says:

Thanks, too bad Amazon Canada has not released Fire TV here…

  7. Nate says:

So stating the obvious in order to get these discounts you “must” be a Prime member correct?

Also would the FireSticks that are ordered from Amazon at this time have the possibility of being able to be rooted or loaded with Kodi?

    • Proxi says:

Yes, Look in the kodi wiki, theres instructions everywhere ontop of the official Wiki. YOu sideload it with the andriod dev kit. THe problem is the app wont show up natively and you need to use another app to change an installed app short cut(recomends downloading classicTV app). Seriously, google it, I have no clue if I can toss links in these comments.

  8. Swanson says:

It’s two hours since the sale has started and neither the FTVS nor the Fire TV are sale at this point. Both are at regular price.

    What a sale this is!

  9. smee says:

Fire TV Stick is live (at $24) now.

  10. Bic says:

One fire stick per customer .. Weak!

  11. Swanson says:

And now at 7:30 AM on the West Coast, I awake and find that all the Fire TV Sticks have been sold… and the waitlist is FULL! This “sale” has only ANGERED me and has driven me to Walmart. Good Job, Amazon!

  12. Mark says:

Found that I was on the “waiting” list for the Fire Stick. Got no email acknowledging that, nothing in my account states I am on a waiting list, but today the fire stick is “in stock”? Amazon is quickly losing me as a loyal customer and ecosystem adaptor.
