Alexa on the Amazon Echo and Fire TV can now order you an Uber

You can now ask Alexa on the Amazon Echo or Fire TV to ask Uber for a ride using the new Uber Alexa Skill. Once you enable the skill and link it to your Uber account, you can say “Alexa, ask Uber to get me a car” to hear how far away the closest Uber driver is to you. Alexa will then ask if you want to order the car and you just have to say yes. When you have a ride ordered, whether it was through Alexa or the Uber app, you can then say “Alexa, ask Uber how far away is my ride” to hear when the driver will arrive. You can also use Alexa to cancel the ride by saying “Alexa, ask Uber to cancel.” The new Alexa skill supports UberX, UberBlack, UberSUV, UberXL, and UberSelect services. You can specify the service you want when asking Alexa for the ride by saying something like “Alexa, ask Uber to order an UberBlack.
