I remember. I was there for the Great Two And A Half Hour AFTVnewscast of 2016. Poor Elias was never the same after that.

    • AFTVnews says:

LOL! You can definitely see me fading during the last few questions. It was fun though. Dealing with the audio sync issues during editing was not fun. Hence why it’s out a day late.

      • Jaidin says:

Great video! Can Amazon go back to a previous update and start doing changes to 3rd party apps? Or do they only focus on the new version?

  2. Y314K says:

    BTW Elias,

RBox is now in the testing face of the 1st Gen Bootloader/TWRP/Rom.

Don’t forget to donate to RBox guys. He sacrificed his weekend getting things done. And we still need patience since all parts are for multiple devices at different starting points.

I think a multi-part guide from you will be needed on day one of release to keep the amount of bricks low. Hopefully you get insider access to it to make sure the files get release at the same time as your guide.

  3. Mike says:

Any idea how to solve the pixelating of live premier league soccer? Do the acceleration but seem juddery in playback then. Firestick on 15.2,16.0,16.1

  4. Cloud says:

Loved the podcast! I was confused why firestarter stopped working and now it all makes sense. Personally for me this isn’t that big of a deal (still lame of Amazon) as now that Kodi shows up in recent section I can easily launch it from there.

For my grandmother however. I really liked that I could eliminate her having to deal with Amazon’s interface. She just watches content on one foreign language app in Kodi and gets confused when she accidentally hits the home button and is thrown into Amazon’s interface.

I used to use Llama to set an event that would launch Kodi as soon as ‘KFTV Launcher’ was launched or moved to the foreground. This would keep her in Kodi even if she accidentally hit the home button. That not longer works on the latest software version. Does the default Amazon launcher have a new name? Do you know of any other way I can do this via Lllama?

I’d prefer not to use firestarter/stopper as they would likely just be blocked in the future and she doesn’t need the other features.

  5. Mark says:

My apps show up in recent home don’t know what everybody else’s deal is.

  6. Mark says:

I personally think it is absurd that amazon is blocking alternate launchers. Think about it. We have to be in the minority of fire tv owners. If we are willing to jump through all the hoops we have to get root and what not, we’ll figure out work arounds for their blocks. It’s really a waste of their time. Just like apple stomping on jailbreaks. Hey companies, work on making a better device and adding features, and not worrying about the home brew club.

I guess the only way amazon could fight back is to require a 1 year subscription to prime. Then you would receive say $50 of content “free” to help combat this.
